Daughter of Amenophis IV or Akhenaten (1351-1334 BCE)

Daughter of Amenophis IV or Akhenaten (1351-1334 BCE), Egyptian, limestone/ red paint. This female head has an elongated skull, and is probably a child of Amenhotep IV/Akhenaten (1351-1334 BCE). The eye is hollow for inlaying. The piece is broken across the neck, and is a forgery executed in the 18th Dynasty, Amarna Period style. The Temple of Kom Ombo

The Temple of Kom Ombo was built more than two thousand years in Egypt during the Ptolemaic dynasty in the town of Kom Ombo. It is the only double temple egyptian, so named because it is dedicated to two gods: one side of the temple is dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek, god of fertility and creator of the world, the other side is dedicated to the falcon god Horus.
