Carved bone of a Thracian gladiator, Roman Empire, 2nd half of 1st C. AD. An indo-european tribal people of southwest Europe (bulgaria, greece and turkey) They allied themselves with Alexander the Great against Persia. Referred to as thracians by the Greeks, they were a cluster of sub-groups and are common figures in Greek mythology.
